Botha rescues Evan Geiselman at Pipe
It was just reported that Evan Geiselman has suffered a serious injury after a wipeout at Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu.
According to photographer Matt Hoffman, Geiselman was held under for a three-wave set after this barrel closed out on him. He was found by a Andre Botha unconscious, reviving him in the water and then taken out of the water by surfer Mick Fanning and the North Shore lifeguards.
Evan was then rushed to hospital with severe head lacerations but his breathing appeared to have full range of motion. He currently is in critical condition.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Evan, and we should all take a minute to thank god that Andre Botha took the actions he did. A true hero.” –Zander Morton
