Sam Thomas is no stranger to beatdowns. After shrugging off an absolute PUMPING in South Australia last month like it was nothing more than a weak shore break, we might go as far to suggest the kid actually enjoys getting his wiry frame thrown into reef.

But regardless of whether he enjoys the beatdowns or not, we do know that the Tasmanian charger is willing to put his body on the line for the slim chance of documented glory. So when a monster swell came rolling into Shipsterns Bluff, Tasmania a couple weeks ago, it comes as no surprise that Sammy boy was there, and, once again, took one of the biggest beatdown of the session.

Luckily, renowned big wave filmer Tim Bonython was there to capture all the action and has given Sam yet another entry into the ABA Big Wave Awards Biggest Wipeout Category.
